the only way I can see danger with guns in school is if kids have not been taught to stay away from them, or if needed to respect how to use them in proper situation.

I remember John Lott one time commenting on how even high schools in New York City had rifle shooting clubs (up until the early 1970s if my memory serves me properly). Back then, the gym teacher usually ran such clubs and kept the guns locked in his office. Why not go back to a time like that as well? Any thoughts or memories about such things back then?
