When I think about a fire, without an “explosion” I wonder what a pile of thermite would do if it were placed at the proper spot in the aircraft. That stuff would go through the body of the aircraft like a hot knife through butter. And it would be easy to get onboard.
French authorities are screening 85,000 employees with “red badge” access to restricted parts of the airport. 85,000!!?? Some of them only screened with a check for no criminal record and not (yet) being on a terrorist watch list. Great. How many people have access to the sensitive areas of a typical large US airport?

Fox will be upset, since they are pushing a non-terrorist event and disproving Trump’s assertion that he is 100% sure it is a terrorist incident.

Yes. Every talking head on Fox was pushing the theory that this couldn’t possibly be terrorism, but is surely mechanical failure (to the point where some of their own guests were snickering at them).
