Not really. P was elected Land Commish in 2014. Spent most of this primary season campaigning for Daddy.

No doubt he will run for TX governor at the next opportunity.

Oh, yeah. He is a politician through and through. After the governorship will be at least one run for the presidency.

P got 73% of the votes here in TX in his bid for Land Commissioner. He is the only Bush to win his first election. I did not vote for him in the State's Primary or General.
