I have never heard of mirrors creating heat to create electricity! A well placed 22 bullet couldn’t have shattered these mirrors?

Because mirrors create nothing. They merely redirect energy in this case sunlight

Yes. A large number of mirrors are used to reflect lots of sunlight onto a very small space, heating water to boiling and the resulting steam running a turbine for an electrical generator. Not strange or stupid.
