Walid is a great information source.

But we also must be careful not to be distracted.

On TV there are those who are trying to explain this away by either the pilot being involved in terrorism or a mechanical failure because of the smoke detector alarm in the forward bathroom.

Such distractions could divert an investigation into what really happened.

This still feels like a bomb was detonated on the plane.

Probably forward as the communications and controls of the aircraft were destroyed, which could explain the weird flying patterns and the lack of radio contact from the pilots.

Who planted the bomb, where it was put aboard the plane, and when it was put on board, are all questions whose answers will lead to what happened.

The investigation should not be pigeon-holed or forced in any one direction—not yet.

Perhaps a US or Israeli sub can pick up the pinging of the black box and help to locate it so a robot sub can retrieve it.

The retrieval of the black box from the ship El Faro shows how sophisticated our abilities have become even at this depth.

The media are doing everything conceivable to spin this into something not involving terrorism.
