So they are complaining because they have to be professional at work.
not only that- there are actually rules they must abide by!!! oh the humanity!!
In a nutshell.
I LOL at the ones who whine that they can't express their individuality act like social lemmings by not having piercings, tattoos and freakish hair dyes.
Not everyone enjoys seeing you dress up like a giant bruise. You'll thank us later when you want to be a manager at a major corporation.
I worked at Time Warner Cable and sometimes dressed in costume for various festivities. We had to sign that we were not ALLOWED TO SPEAK while in costume so as not to harm the Warner Brothers image. Man, those costumes were so hot, I always came out soaked in sweat and dehydrated.
And, yes, little boys love to kick and poke you because they are hands-on little testers for everything.
I wish it was that simple. One of my college roommates and best friends is a cast member as Disney World. Both his wife and he work as cast members in shows and parades, and the stories they'll tell you would make your hair curl. There's a quote in the article that sums it up perfectly:
One employee said: 'I work at Disney World and being around children and their parents all day every day has taught me how not to raise my children.'
Orlando is a concrete jungle, and heat indices in the summer can soar over 100F. Cast members in full makeup or suits entertaining bratty little shits can be an absolute nightmare. However, they love their jobs and love working for Disney, but they love their downtime and are the nicest people you've ever met otherwise. They also espouse generous tipping for retail and service people as a matter of course.
