The quoted author was using what is called, “Poetic License” despite or possibly in spite of the fact that he used the wrong word.

I will pray but all I can say now is dammit. I adore Swampy. I loved the photos he posted and he is the type of person that makes your day just brighter. His posts, both public and pm, were always kind and sincere. If anyone is able to see him, please tell him that my prayers are with him and that I will miss him terribly. Just dammit.....
