Valid points. I was addressing the vibe I got from MGTOW.

I find it all sad. Men and women are being pitted against each other.

Good point. It’s MGTOW as a movement that I find creepy.

Of course not. But a large percentage do. A large enough percentage that allot of men have decided that the downside of marriage outweighs the upside.

In the past men married for easy access to sex. In the age of Tinder all men have an easy access to sex. Most all of it free.

Good point. It is understandable. Sad, though.

That’s a brutal assessment, but I have to admit I see some of myself in your description. I don’t regret anything, but for a year or so, I was questioning what I was doing with my life. One thing that wasn’t in question was that I am married to an incredible man. He treats me like a queen and I love and adore him. When he sees the crazy work its way out, he’s there with a bottle of wine to tame the beast. I’ve mellowed out since starting hormone replacement, as well.

That said, he did join a band a couple months ago. :)

I worry very much for my children, though.

I hope you get through these times all right, because I hear it’s much better on the other side of menopause.

I practice mostly family law, and I was 100% against gay marriage. But, please, continue making broad sweeping generalizations.

A generalization doesn't have to mean that it is true for every circumstance. In fact, that is the definition of generalization - it is true in most, but not all circumstances. Getting upset because you might be in the 1% of the population that doesn't fit this description is irrational. The fact is that most lawyers are left-leaning, and family law attorneys benefit monetarily from adding gays to the marriage racket. If you are one of the few against gay marriage, then bravo to you, but the generalization is still true.

I’ve been on a quest to try and reduce expenses to “near zero” myself, even before my wife left me, recently. Perhaps we should start a thread and share some tips :)

Movement like the womens movement, or is it more just a working philosophy?

Well, I have heard many, many men speak disrespectfully of housekeeping over the years.

It takes two to tango, but I do put most of the blame on the women.

Great post. I'm getting quite an education here, though it's very depressing & disheartening 😕 I guess I should consider myself extremely lucky. My wife just left...didn't want ANYTHING...and I own two houses, a new car, etc. No alimony, either. She wanted notjing, most likely out of guilt for effing me over after my 5 years if devotion and dedication to her. All I wanted was some love and affection...to no avail 😞

Well then, what other alternative is there then?!

PLEASE do not say celibacy! That is NOT what I had in mind when I got married!

Brother, did YOU ever hit the nail on the head.

Yes, it's our fault they're batshit crazy. We did it to them. Yup, all our fault. And every bad decision / every decision they now regret is our fault too.

Yep, and we're always the ones who have to change. Not them, NO NO NO NO NO NO! They NEVER do anything wrong. No sir, they NEVER do anything to piss us off. Nope, that's all our fault too!

Truth be told, I've heard that for 20 of the last near 30 years I've been married. I've about had my fill and I'm ready to walk. My wife lately (as in the last two years now) has done things I'd NEVER thought she'd do, and said things I'd NEVER thought she'd say. To say I no longer recognize her would be truthful.

We're in counseling, she's said repeatedly to our counselor it's all my fault, I have to change, it's not her. It doesn't matter how many times SHE (our counselor) tells her it's never just one person's fault, that seems to be wife's position and she's sticking to it.

I'm at the point I know every 2 bedroom apartment, condo and town home within 15-20 minutes of my home and I've visited a few of them. I already have my game plan on when to take half of all the accounts, how to do it without her finding out about it until it's already done, and how I'm going to get my belongings out of the house when she's gone so I can do it in peace. It'll all happen on the same day.

I'm so seriously fed up with "it's all your fault" when everything she blames me for are decisions SHE made about HER life without asking me what I thought. She quit her full time job one day to stay home with the kids, cutting $50k out of our household income without so much as talking to me about it. That was 17 years ago. I've been the sole bread winner for 17 years. She blames me for her decision to stay home and be "stuck with the kids" and then again for my working so hard to keep a roof over our heads and food in our mouths.

She's the one that shit $50k down the crapper and put all the financial burden on me! That's my frigging fault?

Batshit crazy I tell ya. All of 'em.

I know of very few husbands that don’t appreciate their wives at home taking care of them, the children and the home. Those that don’t are stupid but in the minority IMO.

It is the brain-damaged, Left-dominated institutions, like the MSM, schools, government, and entertainment that generally demean the value of the woman as wife, mother, and homemaker. A strong society is an antidote to tyranny and the family is the core of a strong society. Satan and his Leftist minions have been relentlessly working on it for a long time, his cornerstone being the deception of Eve and Adam’s going along with it. (Nothing new - he uses the same old ideas, but we don’t learn very well I guess.)

As I said in an earlier post, only God can fix this. It is way too invasive and pervasive in our society for man to hardly begin to make a dent.

For a lot of reasons including this one, I know Jesus is coming soon but I’m hoping for a relatively short time of renewal in America and around the world before it all comes crashing down. I know also afterwards, Jesus, the Prince of Peace, will rule here and hearts, minds, and society will be set the right way I believe.

One of the very first things to go should be cable TV. It’s an expense that is not missed shortly after developing other things/routines to do. Besides that it cures the couch potato syndrome very quickly once it’s eliminated. Been without it for 3 years (since the ex btw, lol). God how I hated every “reality” show she was addicted to. Haven’t even missed watching football players wear pink, and I grew up playing and watching everything about the game.

Word of advice. If and BEFORE you decide to make tracks, get “stuff”. All documents. Financial, household, legal etc. I even took all the appliance manuals and warranty docs. Your lawyer will appreciate not having to hound her legal reps for the stuff and it will cost her $ to get copies of the stuff. Put it in a safe, undisclosed place. I even took boxes of family pictures before I made the move. Once you initiate the action you cannot legally remove any of those things and if you leave she ends up controlling everything in the house. Plan ahead.
