The Divorce Revolution Has Bred An Army Of Woman Haters
The Federalist ^ | May 19, 2016 | W. Bradford Wilcox

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d earn the ire of a character named Turd Flinging Monkey, the nom de plume of a popular online activist. A leader in the Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW) movement, which encourages men to avoid romantic relationships with women, Monkey did not take kindly to my new Prager University video talking up the benefits of marriage for men.

In the video, I noted, among other things, that married men work harder (about 400 more hours), smarter (they’re less likely to quit without having found another job), and more successfully (they make about $16,000 more per year) than their single peers. I described these as features, not bugs, of married life for men.

>I had not heard of MGTOW and went to check it out - only to get this message:

They’re basically voluntary eunuchs. Awful movement but rooted in the very bad deal that is modern marriage for men.

“My wife of three years left me a few months ago. The pain only seems to increase as time goes on :( after She left, and during one of my “pleading sessions” she said she regarded the marriage as “an experiment” that didn’t work out for her. She seemed flabbergasted when I scolded her for using such a cold term. She said it in two occasions, thereafter. These women REALLY know how to hurt a guy :(”

Because that’s what marriage is to most women, an experiment. They love the attention form the wedding and reception, but then when the work starts they dip out.

Perhaps celibate might be a bit more accurate than eunuch.

As I recall, the Apostle Paul didn’t seem to have a problem with such an outlook on life by men if they could handle it, otherwise they should marry.

But at that time the legal system wasn’t as slanted as it is today.

ALL women know how to hurt a guy. There's no exceptions to that.

You may not believe this right now however I'll say it anyway: Be glad it's only been three years that you wasted with that woman. Some of us come out the other side of having kids, careers and working our asses off to support our families only to find out 20, 30 years later that our wife's really aren't that much different than yours.

Mourn the end of your marriage, take care of yourself and give yourself time. It gets better.

Not just women haters.

And if our own government wasnt so into using the unconstitutional Family Court system to take in over 50 billion dollars a year from couples , ie,another type of civil asset forfeiture, and deliberately drag out proceedings and deliberately encourage animosity between spouses, as stated by judges and lawyers that practice in Family Court,

We could have very efficient and straightforward divorce laws that much of europe has where there is no forever alimony, child support actually goes to the childs needs and is not stealth alimony, and the process is quicker and not set up to increase spousal animosity. There divorce occurs in such a way as to let people get on with their lives as opposed to the court making a living off of keeping divorce proceedings going as long as possible to drain money away from the family.

>Heck, on this very Conservative Forum there are many people who choose to cohabitate with their significant other without the benefit of Marriage.

Only one of the friends I grew up with is still married and his wife regally cheats on him. He can’t divorce her because it will destroy his small business. So he pretends it’s not happening(no kids) and I used to follow her adventures on face book before I deleted my account. His brother wisely decided to have kids without signing the sate contract and his “girlfriend”(Really his wife in all but name) is much more faithful to him and his home life happier because he can split any moment he chooses. Signing up for state marriage gives them women all the power and they tend to abuse it.

I’m not saying the situation is right, but given the alternatives men are making rational choices.

>Is marriage really a bad deal for men?

Considering the following vs. men:
- divorce = pay up
- divorce = joint custody (at best)
- alimony after the ex- is married
- spousal abuse = ‘suck it up buttercup’ but jail if reversed
- non-prosecution (most of the time) for false-rape/abuse charges

If I had a son, I’d say pre-nup or don’t get married until the rules/laws are equalized.

That p* ain’t made of gold, boy /excuse my French

Handle it? Why should a man need to handle marriage? Marriage and families is the default plan God has for people and if the state is messing it up people should find ways around it instead of abandoning future life.

Most of the time, yes.

A lot hinges on which lawyers have a better relaionship with the presiding judge. Which firm gives more to their re-election campaigns. Which firm hires the judge to do arbitration hearings for them. Etc.

A few women have gotten screwed like most men have because their lawyers werent as in with the judge as the other side.

Good documentary on this is Divorce Corp.

This is similar to the blunt advice,

“If it flies, floats or f####, it’s cheaper to rent than to buy.”

Cynical to be sure, but perhaps in this day and age a sad truism?

No fault needs to go away. Plenty of people, today can get divorced for fault. And it should be taken into account.

OK, so any ideas as to how to find ways around the state?

I suppose you could find another country with better laws. That’s an option.

It might be the default plan is to live in a shelter and not out in the open. But if the shelter is on fire, perhaps best to stay away until it’s safe to enter, don’t you agree?

Of my friends I am the last man standing.

Even though I am in a reasonably happy marriage (20+ years). I do not recommend it for any man — unless he is able to reverse the leverage (e.g., rich wife).

I never congratulate men (or women for that matter) when they announce intentions to marry. I stay silent.

Or more simply stated:

Divorce is the screwing you get, for the screwing you got.

Don’t sign the state contract. Find a church willing to enforce basic patriarchal rules as laid down by Paul in the New Testament.

My wife announced yesterday (May 19) that she is leaving, to move out of state, to be with her “Facebook” boyfriend.

It's not really my place to advise, but: the second the wheels of her jet, or the wheels of her car leave the vicinity, close out all bank accounts, sell everything that you don't really, really want that isn't nailed down. After all that sell all the stuff that is nailed down. Cancel all credit cards, sell all stocks, bonds, or other assets, and if not possible then use them as collateral for as much loan as you can - if you can keep it in her name, then abscond with the money. Quit your job and move far away (at least over state lines). On your way out of town, use the money you borrowed in her name to hire an attorney to file for divorce.

OK, maybe that is a bit harsh...

Then again maybe it doesn't go far enough.

No creepier than the women who feel the same way about men based on their past experiences.

Besides that is where they are today. I would not make the asumption they are going to feel, the same way forever in the future. People take time to heal. Ie my folks divorced in ‘81 but they were back to friendly terms in about 7 years.
