Because those communities destroy play grounds. I have seen it in my small town. Graffiti, broken equipment and the play grounds are only a year or two old. Add to that they are not really usable for children because drug dealers and other undesirables hang out there.

True - I’d like to ask these Ms.Obama who will take the responsibility of gathering up the used needles and condoms every morning before the kids show up. Or should that be another government job.
Back in 1992 I was stationed in the DC area. We found a nice home being built in a very rural area about 35 miles south of the Beltway. The home we bought is in a very small HOA (I hate HOAs but didn't have the time to find other decent homes without one) and it had a small playground.
Several years later, as the area became built up a Section 8 housing development was built about four blocks from all of our nice homes.
Since I was on the HOA Board of Directors I would inspect the comon areas every week just to make sure things were good and to see what needed to be done. After the Section 8 town homes were built I started finding used condoms laying around the playground and then finally started finding used needles from drug usage. I got the Board and the residents to approve the dismantlement of the playground and we planted a bunch of trees in place of the equipment.
You can't have anything nice once the thugs start to invade.
