When I first read that Trump was running, I laughed out loud.

My response to his announcement was similar. I knew who he is, but I never watched any of his TV programs.

I kept seeing posts about the massive numbers at his early rallies. So, one day I loaded up the streaming feed and watched. He was late, but that didn't seem to bother the crowd. As soon as he did start speaking, he had the crowd with him. He rambled, seemingly disjointed topics, but he was mesmerizing.

I watched another of his rallies soon after and noticed similar.

The more I watched, the more I saw sincerity. He seemed to mean what he said. I watched some of the other candidates, and they ALL came across as the typical, promise-them-anything politicians. Trump didn't come across like that.

Before Cruz started crashing, I sort of leaned toward him. But there was always something that didn't seem quite genuine with him. He seemed to be a little too slick. After the Cruz burn-up starting in Iowa, and the more revelations about his and wife's histories, I lost interest in him about the time the Iowa caucus was over.

I know what the politicians will do -- more of the same. So, I am willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt. If he does 1/2 of what he has promised, he will be 10 times better than the last 4 presidents.

"Make America Great Again." If he succeeds, we all win.

Trump had me at "wall" on day one. I also knew he would be president on that day too.

When I saw Cruz had supported a 500% increase in H-1B visas I knew he had no chance. Go Trump go!

That was also a factor in my own retreat from Cruz. He just looked and sounded like a caricature of a normal person. He came across like a B movie rendition of the typical lying politician. I mean, the phoniness was just on 11 all the time with him. That was a major turn-off.
