A recent competition hosted in part by the U.S. Army and designed to test core tank crew skills saw European crews take the top honors, while crews from the U.S. Army failed to place. The results raise the question of whether the Armyafter more than a decade of focusing on guerrilla warfarehas devoted adequate training to address "big war" skills.
Held from May 10 to 12 and jointly hosted by the U.S. Army and the German Bundeswehr at the Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany, the the Strong Europe Tank Challenge included challengers from six NATO countries: Denmark, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Sloveniawhich sent tank platoons of four tanks each to compete and the United States, which sent two platoons.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I hope they had women and gays in the tank crews. Skill is irrelevant. Have to focus on what’s important.
Is there a “Top Gun” school for tankers?
The American Army is still first in combating global warming and in embracing diversity. We probably have the #1 non-cis-gender tank crew in the world.
That was a really insensitive comment! How could you have left out transgenders and pedophiles? ;)
Not to worry...we’ll have robot tanks soon.

Do smart phones even work in a tank? /s
This would never happen if a Patton commanded our tank corps. So much for the boutique brigades.
I wonder how soon before reruns of M*A*S*H* are not shown anymore because real transvestites are offended by the Klinger character.
Precisely
And nicely played
As I’ve pointed out on similar posts, from 1963 to 1991 NATO had a tank competition the winner of which was awarded the Canadian Army Trophy. In the 17 times the competition was held the U.S. Army won it once. That’s half as many times that the Canadians, the Dutch, and the Brits won it. One third the number of times the Belgians won it. And one fifth the number of times the Germans won it. Maybe tank gunnery just isn’t your thing?
Bruce Jenner isn't funny: he takes himself seriously, and demands the rest of us do likewise.
Army has more interest in helicopters, which can blow up tanks.

The said truth is that you are right, in a total war, after the conventional forces are defeated nuke will be used tactically and then we are on a slippery slope to strategic nuclear strikes.
