Remember this a few weeks ago from political genius George Will:
“Trump would be the most unpopular nominee ever, unable to even come close to Mitt Romneys insufficient support among women, minorities and young people. In losing disastrously, Trump probably would create down-ballot carnage sufficient to end even Republican control of the House. Ticket splitting is becoming rare in polarized America: In 2012, only 5.7 percent of voters supported a presidential candidate and a congressional candidate of opposite parties.”
Ummmm George: The world has changed. You haven’t. You’re a dinosaur.
LOL, the fun part of this is watching so many pundits eat crow. George Will, Nate Silver, Jonah Goldberg, Bill Kristol,
I still fully expect Cankles to be our next Prez.
That said, I’m open to being pleasantly surprised!
One of the things I love most about this political season is that the Beltway pundits and talking heads like Rove, Will, Kristol, etc. have been utterly and totally discredited.
Sometimes I think “conservative” means “dinosaur”, “prehistoric”, or “petrified.”
We need to identify ourselves as lovers of freedom, not lovers of the status quo which “conservative” implies and shows itself in many so-called “conservatives” like George Will and the National Review, the supposed mouthpiece of the founder of the “conservative movement”, William Buckley.
The conservative movement was a mid-wife, as I hope Trump is, to help bring about a rebirth of freedom in America. The issue in America, as it always has been and always will be, is FREEDOM - individual (cutting 80% of the mostly unconstitutional central government), political (reinstating the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land against the feds)), economic (allowing the market economy free of government interference to do what it does best - create wealth and prosperity), and personal (hearts turning back to trusting God and the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ).
