I hope she doesn’t have to live through a starvation event and social collapse before she learns. It’s not as if this hasn’t come through in cycles for centuries, and it always ends with guillotines, gulags, gas chambers, and lao gai camps in China today.
On a recent trip, she was telling me how her generation looks forward to the passing of the older generation so they can complete their beautiful world. She’s also in favor of zero dollar spent on defense. I just hang my head in astonishment and shame. She and her pals have NO idea what could be in store for them...as you say, it always ends in disaster and there is absolutely NO reason to think it can’t happen in the old USA.
As Reagan famously said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
