Truth involves Obama, 'nude pictures of passengers' and fed-up workers.
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson warns air travelers to prepare for much longer than usual airport security lines, but a Transportation Security Administration watchdog says this mess is simply a matter of the government failing to manage its resources responsibly.
On Monday, Johnson stood at Ronald Reagan National Airport just outside Washington and told passengers to expect longer than expected wait times as the Transportation Security Administration, or TSA, expedites hundreds of new personnel into service to speed up the security process. In Chicago, passengers were told to arrive three hours prior to departure.

TSAs penchant for directing its ever-increasing budget into the wrong areas.
TSA has spent many billions of dollars on things that dont work, Edwards said. As a result, theyve starved their budget from hiring more screeners to reduce congestion.
...
things work much more smoothly north of the border.
In Canada, all major airports have private screening, Edwards explained. Theres a number of different expert companies that specialize in airport screening. They get three-year contracts to do particular airports. If they dont do a good job, if they dont have high security, they get fired. The next time around, a different company gets the contract.
While U.S. airports do have the ability to ditch the TSA and hire private security, Edwards said the Obama administration is making it much tougher to do that.
Congress has had to slap down the administration a few times to get it to allow airports to go private, he said. In the original legislation that created TSA, House Republicans slipped in this provision that airports could petition the Department of Transportation to go private, but the Obama administration has made that very difficult.

The UNION wants MORE MONEY, so they CREATE LONG LINES so that TAXPAYERS cry “UNCLE”!!
The airlines and airports know in advance the rate that passengers will be boarding aircraft and they know the amount of baggage they will bringing.
They know in advance the capacity of their screening systems. They know in advance the wait times for passengers at any given time.
Why the problem?
Did the TSA beg for more personnel and equipment and were denied? Did the personnel and equipment underperform?
Did the airlines, who knew their large bookings would lead to large delays ... did they let the delays happen knowing that the TSA would be blamed and they would end up blameless and with nice fat wallets?
Did the airlines overbook the airports?
The first time I saw that his name was Jeh, I couldn’t think of anything but dumb ass.
FIXED!
I don’t know why more frequent flyers don’t sign up for *TSA Pre-Check*.
My son flies to and from Florida each week. It’s an intrusive process; yet getting fingerprinted [already, for a CCW you must have this], having his passport scanned and paying a $85 non-refundable application fee [[fortunately his employer reimbursed him], it is good for five years.
He says he has never waited in line [yet] and breezes through the screening; BDL to JAX.
With a ‘Known Traveler Number,’ or ‘KTN’ when he books his flight, his number appears on his boarding pass.
FWIW, I think the terrorists have won; by inconveniencing all travelers. YMMV
Arriving early doesn’t bother me much. I like to read a book and people watch.
But the TSA is a crock of crap.
