Who is saying this? I've never heard anyone except the NY Times and their bleeding-heart sisters make that claim. Did a horde of gender-confused "activists" suddenly descend on America and raise this "critical" issue overnight? Have there been latent legions of pantyhose-wearing stevedores yearning to use the ladies' room all these years?

Such a term is actually an unfounded accusation that feral normal people will tear transgenders limb from limb. As we have seen time and again, the already mentally ill are most likely to commit offenses from the mundane (theft, vandalism, public disorder) to the sexual/personal (molestation, grooming, pedophilia, voyeurism, etc.).
