Love him or hate him, Donald Trump has certainly turned American politics on its head. Has it ever happened before in American history that a political party began to frame legislation against an opposing candidate’s proposals before he was even elected – much less one whose election was as inconceivable as the mainstream media would have us believe about Donald Trump?

that’s not exactly a vote of confidence in Clinton. They must be expecting Trump to win the presidency.
We’ve outlawed countries and ethnicities before. We can do it again. STop ALL immigration until such time as we have control. Anything else is suicide.
The total ban is a stopgap measure to allow control at a finer level to be put in place. The ban is said to be to get control.
The probable first Muslims to be allowed reentry would be those of the US military and American diplomats and other US citizens. However, the US citizens would be subjected to close check to clear the possible terrorist connections.
Then would come foreign diplomats and representatives of foreign companies regularly doing business in America. The categorization would continue onward with increasing scrutiny. The Muslim goats will be separated from the Muslin sheep.
Frankly, I’d keep ALL Muslims out until they rewrite their Koran. Sharia Law is NOT compatible with the
United States Constitution! We don’t willingly import diseases. Why are we importing a disease which has been fatal to every nation-state it has touched?
Since the Democrats want to ban Trump’s anti-mohammedan plan, call them Saracens, declare a day to honor Charles Martel, making it open season for one day on Saracens!
Calling them Saracens denotes them as historical invaders upon Christian territories.

Not so much. I give you Ebola all the way down to various forms of Whooping Cough and other niceties from our southern neighbor's, that we do indeed willingly import disease.
You’re correct. I worded it poorly. We USED TO require good health of all immigrants. Many were turned away at
Ellis island and sent back to their country of origin because they couldn’t pass the health requirements to enter the U.S..
This administration under Obama has imported everything under the sun, particularly tuberculosis.

Donald Trump was recently severely criticized for suggesting that the U.S. should limit or temporarily suspend the immigration of certain ethnic groups, nationalities, and even people of certain religions (Muslims). The criticisms condemned such a suggestion as, among other things, being “Un-American,” dumb, stupid, reckless, dangerous and racist. Congressmen and Senators swore that they would never allow such legislation, and Obama called such a prohibition on immigration unconstitutional (as if, all of a sudden, he gives a damn about the Constitution).
As Gomer Pyle would say, “Surprise, Surprise!!!” It seems that the selective immigration ban is already law and has been applied on several occasions. The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, a.k.a., the McCarran-Walter Act allows for the “Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by the president (something which we haven’t had for the past seven and a half years). Whenever the president finds that the entry of aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
Note that McCarran and Walter were Democrats and this act was utilized by Jimmy Carter, no less, in 1979 to keep Iranians out of the United States … but he actually did more. He made all Iranian students already here check in, and then he deported a bunch. Seven thousand were found in violation of their visas, 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the United States in 1979. You won’t hear a word about this from the liberal media, propaganda machine.
It is of note that the act requires that an applicant for immigration ”must be of good moral character” and “attached to the principles of the Constitution.” Since the Quran forbids Muslims to swear allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, technically, all Muslims should be refused immigration.
