How is “zoning” constitutional anyways?
I know I read it somewhere but I always wondered why my land went from 1 Acre zoning to restrictive 5 acre zoning (1 home per 5 acres) which devalued my land values by 80 percent (but my assessment went up) go figure right?

Basic aspects of it, e.g., not building a noisy factory in a residential neighborhood, I am in favor of. On the other hand a lot of zoning ordinances appear directed at preserving one group of people's concept of a nice neighborhood. Those need to go the same way HOAs, into the landfill.

I also live on restrictive 5 acre zoning (1 home per 5 acres.)
But at least here in the Pacific Northwest, Peoples Republic of Washington, we get to pay a "RAIN TAX," not to worry the village idiots here in the local Snohomish (Pronounced Snow-Home-ish) County Government will say it's only a Levy, not a tax. But they will also fail to mention that if you don't pay the one and only Levy found on a Property Tax Statement, they will put your home / land up for auction.
Is this a great country or what. (eyes rolling big time.)
