The CNN effort to spin the fact that the New York Times got caught in an obvious smear effort. Their effort to turn flirtatious conduct, which by normal definition is certainly not abuse of the objects of that flirtation, into something ugly, was exposed by the statements of the imagined victims; leaving the hatchet writer intellectually naked!

The fact that the Times has been so outclassed by Donald Trump that they would stoop to the tactic that they stooped to, confirms the picture I painted of the Times in my novel, Return Of The Cods, in which the Times plays the major actual antagonist to a young Virginia Conservative, running for the U.S. Senate. (Or how else can anyone really spin their tactics or stpidity?)
