Ryan says there's no timeline for unifying behind Trump

GREEN BAY, Wis. (May 14, 2016) — House Speaker Paul Ryan says he doesn't have a timeline for unifying behind presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

During a news conference Saturday in Green Bay, Wisconsin, reporters asked Ryan whether he hopes to have party unity before the GOP convention in July. He says "this is a process, we still have some time to go."

Ryan also says that Republicans are in the process of unifying while "Democrats are still ripping each other apart."

Ryan says he and Trump will have policy disputes, "no two ways about it," but that it's important there be "real party unity, not pretend party unity."

Ryan says that while there are questions about Republicans refusing to back Trump, "we're really in the never Hillary camp."

As Obama keeps throwing garbage in America's face, like forcing states to allow women in the men's rooms and vice versa, Republicans won't have to unify. The nation will naturally unify around Trump. Left-of-center careerists like Ryan will be left behind in the ditch.

It's amazing that Republicans with so much unused power to stop Obama in his illegal and immoral tracks play these childish games. Ryan considers all Americans as stupid as he is and fails to realize that most in the Republican Party are much wiser. He caters to the Democrat Party! He's forcing the creating of a third party which will be truly Conservative and far from the ridiculous center!

I can't wait to see Ryan defeated and retire to his cheese-eating state.

Ryan is deeply self absorbed in his “importance.” He can be replaced.

Who cares about getting this puke on board. Run against his corruption and complicity and win in a landslide. No one should care about what Paul Ryan wants

there's no timeline for unifying behind Trump

Actually, there is. If you're a Republican, you should have done it last week. If you want, you can do it with a proviso--e.g., Cruzers (as I was) might say that they support Trump but will hold his feet to the fire on constitutional issues and SCOTUS choices--but that is always the case at the end of a primary process. As much as I might have wanted the will of the people to be Cruz, it was not, and his supporters must be content with the knowledge that Cruz will probably end up with as many votes than many who received the nomination in previous cycles, but he could not withstand the once-in-a-generation Trump phenomenon.

But that isn't what Ryan wants: what Ryan wants is to block the will of the people, and he elongates the process because he has yet to figure out how to accomplish that.

“he doesn’t have a timeline for unifying behind presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.”

Please people of his district, vote for Nehlen. This clown surely cannot be the best you can muster unless he actually shares your values such as open borders, unbalanced budgets, and a complete sell out to the minority party president.

There was a time line for you, Paul Ryan.
It was “Before the party united behind Nehlen.”

Interesting lack of urgency on the part of Ryan

Life is good in the halls of Congress , isn’t it ?

Ryan is on the ropes and trying to ‘finesse” some way of being reelected. The last guy who decided to run “a genius campaign” got steamrolled and the same will happen to Ryan. Funny how Trump has them all by the gonads and they try to talk down on him as if he’s the child and they’re the adults (”He’s tryin’ real hard to act presidential - we can help”) while he laughs at how pathetic they are....

Still stalling, with hoping on hope that his sugar daddy Mitt will decide to dive in, wearing third-party swim trunks, or, pulls a fast one at the convention.

Obama tactics, all the way.

The longer that Romney, Cruz, Ryan, the Bushes etc keep this up, the less relevant they become. Some are well on their was to despised.

It'll be interesting when Sanders supporters realize that they have been played. They been used to protest Trump instead of, until now, stopping hillary. How many of these "dump the insiders" votes will stay home, or even better, vote for Trump?

I don’t take advice from a clown like ryan who has already proven to be a loser when he ran with his fellow liberal mitt. He needs to go .

Ryan is having a great time. Every day he gets glowing headlines in the NYTimes, who previously pretty much ignored him or else pooh-ed him. Right now, he’s the liberal media’s darling and they hang on his every word. He’s milking this situation for everything he can get. Once he endorses Trump, they’ll go back to ignoring him - no news there - and he knows it.
