Fury at racist cartoon comparing 'butch' Michelle Obama to pageant-ready Melania Trump
Daily Mail (UK) ^ | 14 May 2016

A cartoonist has been accused of racism after he portrayed Michelle Obama as masculine and butch next to a pageant-ready Melania Trump in a controversial drawing.

The cartoon - which has been branded 'racist and misogynistic' - shows a muscular Mrs Obama wearing a green dress with a bulge in the groin area.

Stood next to her is a feminine, smiling Melania Trump in a pink dress and holding a Trump sign.

In that outfit she looks like a character out of Star Wars.

The only question I have is why did the cartoonist
put Michelle in such a good looking dress?

Can someone point out the ‘racism’ in it please? I seem to have entirely missed it.

My first thought as well....

If Mooch was portrayed as some gross caricature of Aunt Jemima I could see racism...

One can make the point that the drawing of Melania Trump is offensive since she is portrayed as some air headed beauty contestant...

But, she has that magical thing called white privilege...

“OMG!! Is that furry thing with a hat FOR REAL?!?!

I’m no fashion plate by any stretch of the imagination, but I know better than to wear that!”

That one caught my eye, too. It looks like she’s wearing an upside down urn on her head.

They would work (especially with “the bulge”); they’d just be viewed as an outright attack (the way their revolutionary garb in the fist bump cartoon was).

reverts back to stereotypes that black women are angry and masculine.

Stereotype, maybe it is but with the First "Lady" appearances render it a true image. She is muscular and masculine.

I remember that at the beginning of the Obama era, there were newspaper articles gushing about Michelle Obama’s keen fashion sense. One article even gave a plug to some “designer” shop in Chicago where one could acquire the same haute couture that Michelle wears.

At the time, I kept thinking that Michelle was a shoo-in for that show, “What Not To Wear.” Her fashion sense is horrible, as evidenced by those ghastly boob belts (which she no longer wears). Once in a while, she wears something nice, but I chalk that up to the broken clock phenomenon.

Many years ago my mother in law had a housekeeper named Jessie.

Michelle is the spitting image of Jessie. M looks like J facially with the high cheekbones and her body is identical. They both are very tall with long muscular arms. Not fat just big! They both come from the same tribe, if you catch my drift.

The tweets talk about how educated Michelle is. What do we actually know about her education? What were her grades and why did she give up her law license? Like Obama there seems to be no info on her.

That is a $12,000 dress??? I can make something just like it for less than $150!

Now I know what I’m doing after retirement.

I remember from back when the obamas first were in the WH. There was a very fat woman wearing a red dress who was her fashion guru. Someone will be able to find a picture of the woman. Her own wardrobe choice was awful!
