An economically independent class of people is the biggest threat to the dems and their agenda.
This is becoming readily apparent to everyone who used to be middle-class and are now facing taking foodstamps, welfare, or scam to get disability.
I’ve heard sooooo many people say something to the effect:

And the Dems brought interest rates on savings accounts (CDs etc) to zero. The left in Europe is talking about negative rates on bank accounts. The days of getting a 3% return on your passbook savings account are gone-that has also hurt the class of savers-the middle class.
