new documentary about Anthony Weiners infamous 2013 New York City mayoral bid that was derailed by his sexting scandal comes at the worst possible time for Hillary Clinton, ABCs Jonathan Karl reported Thursday.
In a clip flagged by NewsBusters, Karl said the extraordinary behind-the-scenes footage of Weiner dredges up the scandal again at the worst possible time for Hillary Clinton and her closest aide, Weiners wife Huma Abedin.
In politics, as in much of life, timing is everything, Karl said. For Congressman Anthony Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin, Hillary Clintons closest aide and constant presence at her side, the new documentary about his sordid political tale couldnt come at a worse time.
Weiner depicts a political campaign set on self-destruct, as the New York Times put it. Former Weiner aide Josh Kreigman made the film and captured such moments as Abedin telling the camera that she was living a nightmare.
The former Democratic congressman resigned in 2011 when it was revealed that he had exchanged sexually explicit photos and messages with several women online. His 2013 bid for New York City mayor was an attempt at a political comeback. However, the revelation that his sexting habit continued under the alias Carlos Danger sent his campaign into a tailspin. He wound up finishing in fifth in the Democratic primary.
Karls report included Donald Trumps prior remarks about Weiner that New York didnt want perverts representing them.
Now, with the documentary, another chance for Trump to bring up Hillary Clintons own response to her husbands infamous sex scandal, Karl said.
He concluded the report by saying Weiner still hasnt seen the movie, and, as you can imagine, Abedin and Clinton had no comment on it, either.
Who would’ve thought that a twerp like Anthony Weiner was worth a documentary in the first place?
It’s been long rumored that Hillary doesn’t like Weiners,
She being more of a ladies woman.
