Twenty-two defendants in the largely black and Hispanic areas of Miami-Dade County known as Opa-Locka and Hialeah swindled the government out of $13 million by fraudulently trading food stamps for cash.

I was briefly on SNAP, when no longer needed, I attempted to cancel and return balance... [just stop using the card, it doesn’t cancel or zero out until after xx months]

... and then I asked how to repay what I received...

To their credit, they DID look to see if there was a procedure, nothing was found. (make a voluntary contribution to tax at filing).

I decided to give to local food bank, figured that there would be less overhead/loss. (?)

Why is this even news?? Here in Los Angeles, the Illegal Alien capital of the world, San Fernando Valley to be specific where there are over 1 Million Illegals and a total of 3 Million PLUS on Food Stamps, this goes on ALL DAY and has FOREVER.

They need to stop giving out EBT and SNAP cards and bring back the powdered milk, pinto beans, and free cheese handed out at the local government welfare offices like they used to do when we had a semi-sane program. Then mostly only the really needy will apply - not the really greedy.

Obama single-handedly rushed an extra 20 MILLION people onto food stamps from the day he took office... 20 million people who were not on food stamps way, way back in 2007. That's the population of Ohio and Michigan combined.... or the total population of the FIFTEEN smallest US states, up to and including WV, NM, and NEB.

That action alone is by far the biggest welfare fraud in the history of the planet.
