When I left Iraq there was a lot of empty space in our containers. I asked why we weren’t bringing more stuff home (tools, furniture etc.) and was told we didn’t need it.

Just for spite I filled my platoon’s containers to the top. Anything we couldn’t fit I destroyed as much as I could.

I knew Iraq would go to crap once we were gone.

Good for you. Most just follow orders from headquarters.

The same thing happened when we left Vietnam. I was told is was cheaper to leave the stuff than bring it back. Never made a whole lot of sense to me, but what did I know?

Good work, thanks for your decision to do what ya could ..... did the same when leaving Desert Storm .....nothing of use was left behind that we didn’t sabotage beyond repair , break or crush to scrap metal value only.

Stay Safe !
