Donald Trump, who issued a December press release "calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States," said Wednesday such a ban "hasn't been called for yet" and it was "only a suggestion."

It's the latest lightning-speed evolution for the real estate tycoon as he pivots from the provocateur who upended the Republican primary to a general election candidate....

Foreign refugees located external to the US have no Constitutional rights no matter what the beautiful people may say.

As miss marmelstein posted: Rudy gave Trump the wrong advice. .....Trump is not about banning Muslim business people who travel here for business purposes. It’s about refugees....

The businessman has status, a reason to be here. The refugee does not......here only to freeload. Rudy should have taken it to the next level....suggesting perhaps businessmen be given a special visa status.

Could very well be. Somebody has to hold Mr. Trumps feet to the fire because it is evident his diehard supporters will not. Happy to oblige. I don’t want to help Trump defeat Hillary only to find out he is Hillary’s evil twin brother.

Hey jackass. You know how many EOs Ronald Reagan signed? Only because you hate the man do you think he would be a nationalistic dictator. Settle down:

If so, then certain Republican presidents – including Dwight Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan – must be classified as even more monarchical, un-American and “fascistic” than Barack Obama. The nearby table shows the number of executive orders issued per year by every U.S. president since 1900.

The average for all twenty presidents is 44 per annum (p.a.), with Democrats averaging 59 p.a. and Republicans averaging 34 p.a. Harry Truman had the highest rate of decree issuance (113 p.a.), while Warren Harding had the lowest rate (just 2 p.a.). So far, Mr. Obama has averaged 37 executive orders p.a., which is below the long-term average of 44 p.a., and lower also than the rate of five GOP presidents – including Gerald Ford (84 p.a.), Dwight Eisenhower (60 p.a.), Richard Nixon (58 p.a.), Ronald Reagan (48 p.a.), and George H.W. Bush (41 p.a.). The average for all twenty presidents is 44 per annum (p.a.), with Democrats averaging 59 p.a. and Republicans averaging 34 p.a. Language is Everything, as well has how you frame things.

Instead of targeting religion, Trump and conservatives have to reshape the proposal to put a moratorium on immigration from high risk countries (middle east and african), including refugees.

Mr. Trump and conservatives would be wise to “watch our language” and not blow the election by broad brush sloppy talk that feeds our enemies.

This is what Rudy said:

“So the minute the government sets up an immigration system it can’t use religion as a test or race or gender as a basis for why someone can’t come in.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but muslim is not a religion.

Trump has never given me any reason to believe one thing he has said while giving me many reasons not to.

Don’t know why anyone would be surprised at this.

If Mr Trump told you to roll over you would bark “how many times” in Pekinese. You and those like you can not be trusted to keep Trump from running left. That is the bottom line Snowflake.
