Sadness at what you said. I didn’t think I would live to see old Dr. Sowell get tangled in “conservative semantics” and disagree with him.
JimRob named this place well. It’s all we want. A Free Republic. The word “conservative” is just not precise, and it’s being used as a magic password. Its adherents are being spirited down a wrong path. It takes a lot of brainwork to realize that what you think is dear to you is what has trapped you in an enemy’s cage.
I think each of us are venerable to 'comfort zones'. Like water we tend to find our own level. I never anticipated Trump to show up and tear down those politically correct water levels... But he breaks open the flood gates of pent up frustrations like none other... And it is NOT just for 'self' gain of myself, but that our Constitution is a prize none should allow to be destroyed. We are a different peoples because of it, and God had Bless US through it.

The media and the GOPe now mean ‘neocon’ when they say ‘conservative’.
Similarly, the media and others now say ‘evangelical’ when they mean ‘Dominionist’.
Note how inaccurate those usages are. Note how congruent neocon and Dominionist goals and agendas are. Those are not accidents.
