Supposedly the last time 65% of eligible US voters voted in national elections was back in 1908, less for state and local. It hasn’t broken that since, a lot of them being below 55%. At least by any thing that I have seen.

Supposedly the 10% of dumbest voters, the ones that manage to vote, but vote one way and then another but can’t usually coherently explain why, are the ones that decide these elections. That’s what swing voters are, right? The people who the campaign money is meant to manipulate into voting or not voting at all based on political ads? Or vote based on how well attended a political really seems to be, or how well the media said a candidate did in a debate. The swayable.

It’s a wonder we aren’t worse off, considering. The problem is that we would probably be even worse off if more people voted, as I suspect the swing voters would only increase as a %.

This is why I think sometimes only Land owners should be allowed to vote, If you are foreclosed upon you get that taken away.

If you can maintain a mortgage, you vote, if you can’t, you don’t.

I help coach the local high school “We The People” Constitutional Law team. I ask the kids which they find better: 50% of the electorate voting, where they are informed on the candidates and issues, and know exactly what they are voting for, or 100% of the electorate voting, where half of them have no clue who, what for, or why they are voting?

They struggle with that question.

The problem it that people with the ability to reason, think logically and have morals can not make it through one of our elections supporting a candidate any longer. You do not give them someone to vote for they do not vote....this election is the perfect example.....

Not a single candidate was decent, not a single one and the propaganda media is beyond disgusting to even sit through and now we are left with a communist and two democrat socialist to choose from, one of the socialist just wants to close the borders....wooohooo. He already told us the republicans party is not the conservative party despite the fake Bible carrying he started with.....

There is no one to vote for this year again.

The swing voters in my observation are the socially liberal fiscally conservative and socially conservative but fiscally liberal.
The socially liberal but fiscally conservative want to help people but not always through the government, or simply don’t want to part with the money the fiscally liberal liberals demand everyone pay in place of charity.
The socially conservative but fiscally liberal want to help everyone per Christian and Jewish mandates but wrongly seek to do so through the state. They end up becoming useful idiots for the socially and fiscally liberal liberals, because they don’t understand that only a limited government will leave them the freedom to act as they choose.
