No president ever ordered the dropping of nuclear bombs. Atomic bombs use fission. Nuclear bombs use an atomic bomb to ignite another bomb that uses fusion to do its damage. Huge difference. Truman ordered Atomic Bombs to be dropped.Actually, in both cases (fission and fusion), the nucleus changes, they are both commonly referred to as "Nuclear Bombs". I think you are making the distinction between an Atomic bomb (Fusion) and a Thermonuclear bomb (fission).
