IMHO he needs to pick someone under 55.
If he wants his changes to stick, he needs someone who will be around for awhile to carry the legacy.

Amen! Don't make RR's mistake when he picked GHWB. He needs someone who is fully on board with the need to completely reform Washington. No more business as usual. No more status quo.

George H. W. Bush, following the unbelievably popular and effective Ronald Reagan, and Bush lasted one term. Before that? Not counting death, Martin Van Buren, 1836.

In short, a veep has virtually no chance of becoming president.
