I guess “conservatives” don’t make any money if their guy is in the White House — what on earth would Billy Kristol have to write about in his silly rag then?

Yes, David Horowitz is an absolute treasure. His past as a leftist, and his realization of what the left really is and does, combined with his intellect, give him a perspective and authority that few can match.

Plus, unlike so many intellectuals, he has common sense. That is rare among the egghead types!

When I saw the title I thought it was complaining about the conservatives that are willing to throw their principles out the window to support a “tough guy” liberal.

They have said the same thing over Romney and McCain. Obama is far from the best thing to happen to Conservatives.

Trump is not a Conservative. He also carries many personal and professional foibles. The Conservative movement can easily be stained with these for a long time to come. It is not illogical, nor a "derangement" to point this out.

That being said, the alternative is another 4-8 years of Marxist and America-hating Hillary, continuing all of Obama's horrible ideas. Given these options, it may be in the best long-term interests of the nation for Conservatives to take the numerous black eyes that the boorish Trump will help the Leftist media will assign to us.

The Conservative Movement will take many more painful hits with Hillary in office, and the GOP will be taking many of those hits with Trump in power... thus my vote does go to Trump... but I will continue to blare warnings about the easily predicted problems associated with a Trump Administration. And to be very clear, my vote now is in the hopes for America's future, and NOT because this vote will aid the Conservative Movement. At best, I think it will be two steps forward and two steps back for Conservatism for 4-8 years, IF we can defeat the Clinton Fraud Machine.

(And, IMHO, the Trump Derangement Syndrome is incredibly deep on both sides of the aisle. The Trump supporters seem to continue to suppose that Trump can do no wrong, will make all of their dreams come true, is magically their kind of Conservative based on absolutely zero evidence supporting that notion (other than campaign speeches), and Freepers who otherwise can craft intelligent and analytical posts on any other topic cannot seem to get beyond bumper-sticker sloganeering when it comes to the topic of... that guy.)

The DC Uni-Party is showing itself as the elites from the two parties and the media and academia.

That’s the problem with these MSM, talking heads, that sit in their little rooms and make up stories and throw them out there to see which ones stick, they don’t THINK!!!

WE the American Voters are the ones thinking this time; We think about all the illegals coming in here, taking our jobs, welfare, free housing, food stamps, free health care when WE the American Voters can’t do this; We think about all the Men, Women who had died protecting our Country and the Wounded Warriors that are treated worse than illegal immigrants; We think about the jobs WE don’t have, but foreign people do; We think about the education that our children are being taught, in ‘sewer snake invested D.C’ instead of here in our own States; WE think about who is making our laws, the ones that are suppose to be following the Constitution of the United States, that are not being followed...

Yes, WE the American Voters are thinking, that’s why we are behind Donald J. Trump for POTUS, to put America back on her feet for her freedoms and her people!!!

Another Democrat President isn't survivable with the USA as a representative republic based on our Founding Principles and the Constitution will be dead, dead, dead!

We will come to resemble Mexico, or Brazil, or some other third world crap hole or we will enter into a hot civil war with patriots aligned against the massive power of Washington tyranny with Muslims and tribal interests as enforcers. It will indeed be a bloody mess as the country descends into racial and religious chaos and large swaths of the country are devastated or knuckle under to a nasty police state run by the most corrupt and ruthless of politicians. Freedom and liberty will be a memory of the dim past.

There is no conceivable Democrat candidate who will do anything other than open the borders to massive Muslim and foreign third world immigration (not to mention universal amnesty) to boost their voting numbers to unbeatable heights while destroying our military and foreign policy in favor of globalism. There will be no recovery from that once the tipping point is reached. We are already almost there.

In other words, tyranny lurks while conservative purists wring their hands over nits and noys. The delusion of a "normalcy bias" is indeed strong these days.

Radio host Michael Medved said he will not vote for Trump as Hillary Clinton will win his home state of Washington so he will vote his “conscience”.

I guess what little he has of one.

Don't know what "conscience" means, but he's a strong opponent of third parties. Forget the third party nonsense, vote for the Republican if they're better than the Democrat. Same thing here, the fact that he thinks Washington will go dem so he can throw away his vote is no different than the third party voter.

It would not be a good thing, but we survived the Civil War and the FDR years. We can survive, thought it's dependent on the voters on the other side of disaster.

We, you and I can think? Much of the media would disagree. To their everlasting frustration each and every one get only one vote, like you and I.

I agree, I wasn't a supporter till he became the candidate. However, and I think it's important, he's not a stupid man. If he want's a successful Presidency, two terms, he needs to remember who elected him. And he's not hostile to conservative ideas, he'll have no problem adopting them.

I’m not at all understanding the anti-Trump people bawling that his presidency would destroy Conservatism.

No matter, they should change it to has destroyed conservatism if that's what they believe. The other option is Hillary. A weak ideology if it depends on a single candidate in a single election. I'm not sure any of the Republican candidates since Reagan embraced conservatism, other than as a means to election. GWB maybe on many issues.
