Donald has not even started to campaign against the evil troll Clinton. The media has already thrown everything they can at all Republican candidates. Thus, there is much more up potential for Trump than for the troll.

ps
I was a Cruz supporter and will vote for Trump.

I supported Cruz as well, and had no problem smoothly transitioning to Trump. I don't get the sour grapes Trump hatred, or the hysterical notion that he's going to appoint himself dictator. And I find it especially disappointing that a number of supposedly rational-thinking conservatives have chosen to let their emotions override their brains, ordinarily a leftist "progressive" trait.

To the "never Trump" folks, I would just say go look at his policy statements on his campaign website and tell me what you disagree with. And yes, there are extensive details provided there, not just slogans. My take is that Trump is absolutely sincere in his concern for what is happening to the country and his desire to stop it. I agree with some that he does not have a deep philosophically conservative foundation, but he has been a businessman, not a political pundit. He hasn't spent his life philosophizing about conservative principles, but his instincts appear to be mostly conservative, certainly in the very areas in which the country is most threatened at the moment. THAT is why he is connecting with people, even some on the other side, because regardless of whether they hold themselves out to be a donkey or an elephant, they are all feeling the negative effects of the past 7+ years and they realize that Trump's solutions make sense.

Now I am watching to see who Trump selects as his running mate, and who he floats as potential cabinet secretaries, Supreme Court picks, etc. I think people will be surprised because I believe most of those choices will be solid conservatives. His promise to name the exclusive pool from which he would draw his Supreme Court nominees, for example, is brilliant. He's willing to lay all of his cards on the table to let people see their choice very clearly. I don't recall any other politician ever doing that before.

And his decision to begin his campaign by focusing on the illegal immigration issue was equally brilliant. Ann Coulter is right: If we don't deal with immigration (both legal and illegal) and fast, none of the niceties that the "never Trumpers" are so concerned about will matter. We either take decisive measures immediately to stop the attempt to "fundamentally transform" America through demographics, or it's game over. Trump is the ONLY candidate this cycle (and really within my lifetime) with the guts to FINALLY take on these issues and not care if someone calls him a name as a result. He's exactly the right person at the right time.
