First of all, I was a Cruz guy and am not particularly enthusiastic about Trump.
Secondly, you would have to be blind to not realize that Trump has struck a chord with a large chunk (but not majority) of the American people.
A small, enthusiastic group can often prevail. Supposedly only about a third of the colonists were in favor of independence.
There has NEVER been a President elected with broad appeal. We have had Presidents elected with less than 40% of the popular vote and 4 have been elected with over 60% of the popular vote. The vast majority of Presidential elections are within a couple of points of 50%. We have ALWAYS been a divided nation.
Back to my point, ENTHUSIASM wins elections. I don’t remember anyone who was excited to vote for Dole, McCain or Romney. There are people out there now who just can’t wait to pull the lever for Trump. Not just to defeat Hillary (I’m in that camp), but because they like Trump and think he will make America great again.
Don’t underestimate enthusiasm.
Well I'll admit it's better to have it than not.
