Hillary Clinton Targets Republicans Turned Off by Donald Trump
NY Times ^ | May 6, 2016 | AMY CHOZICK

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is trying to seize on the turmoil Donald J. Trump’s ascent has caused within the Republican Party — hoping to gain the support of Republican voters and influential party leaders, including former elected officials and retired generals disillusioned by their party’s standard-bearer.

The efforts come after the House speaker, Paul D. Ryan, on Thursday said he was “just not ready” to back Mr. Trump, comments the Clinton campaign giddily blasted out in an email and on social media. At the same time, Priorities USA Action, a “super PAC” supporting Mrs. Clinton, intends to reach out to Republican megadonors disillusioned by their party’s presumptive nominee.

More broadly, Mrs. Clinton’s campaign is repositioning itself, after a year of emphasizing liberal positions and focusing largely on minority voters, to appeal to independent and Republican-leaning white voters turned off by Mr. Trump.

Ryan’s opponent should use this in his own ads in his congressional race against Ryan.

Let her.

Like the GOPe and the MSM in the GOP Primaries, Hillary and an even more active MSM are going to try the same thing in the General.

...and fail just as miserably if not much more so.

Do you blame those who sat out 2012 and refused to vote for Mitt? Plenty of FReepers were proud that they didn’t vote for Mitt in the general election.

I don’t see any conservative votes going to Hillary.

ANY Republican that can vote for Hillary Clinton(And most likely Elizabeth Warren as her VP) deserves the country that they get..Hillary Clinton already said she wants an Australia type gun ban, so fine, if this is what these people want, I will be sitting there with a lawn chair in front of their house when Clinton and her goons come to get their guns, I will bring an extra big bag of popcorn too

Since the Gop nomination is all but over, in open primary states GOP voters can cross over and vote for Bernie.

This will help de-legitimize The old battleaxe and in CA. Sanders could beat her with our help.

“I don’t see any conservative votes going to Hillary.”

Certainly not real conservatives, but there are a lot of pretenders out there, including even on this board — I have seen several saying they will vote for Hillary.

I am a republican "turned off" by Trump, I think he is a con-man selling himself to be someone he is not. I could make a long list of reasons to support why I think that, BUT even at his worst, even if he shaved his head and called himself Dr. Evil he would be thousands of times better than Hillary.

Back then I wasn’t

But after Mitt attacking the front runner for months, I think in hindsight they were right

Mitt is a piece of $hitt

a STRONG majority want to vote the insiders out of DC.

hillary can HAVE them. We’re better off with a real DC housecleaning, both political parties.

Yep let the traitors herd together and be identified for all to see.

“I’m pretty sure she already had the “influential party leaders” on her side all along. The whole bunch of them are totally corrupt.”

You nailed it.

GOPe is in bed with the Democrats for a Hillary presidency.

Elites are depressed the gravy train's ending... but they've still got an opportunity to hook up with corrupt democrats... Two hundred thousand an hour for 'speeches'? Foundations? Donations for friends and family - insider information? Switch.

Don't fret conservative elites... switch parties.

Sanders would object to selling out the country for pennies on the dollar - but I doubt Hillary cares. So bitter conservatives clinging to your lobbyists... just become democrats.

I actually think the ads run against Trump so far by Clinton will actually help him. The one with Romney, Miss Lindsey, Cruz, Rubio, Jeb etc., all blasting Trump, could actually make democrats not wanting to vote for Clinton, think that Trump is a better bet since all the prominent republicans are against him.

Trump will probably attract more PO'd blue collar Democrats in the general election than even Nixon or Reagan could manage. That's probably 100x as many voters as the number of establishment/neoconservative Republicans who will join Romney and Lindsey's probable defection to the Clinton camp.

Have any of these so-called Republicans explained in what specific way the corrupt, inept, and pathological liar Hillary would be better than Trump?
