Dallas crack dealer gets 37-year sentence commuted by Obama

A Dallas drug dealer is one of 58 federal convicts whose sentences have been reduced recently by the Obama administration.

Wayland Wilson was sentenced to 37 years in prison for a conspiracy drug charge in 1993, including possession and intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana, according to an appeal. Despite the offense being Wilson’s first, the judge had no choice in the sentencing because of federal guidelines at the time, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reports. After Thursday’s decision, he is now set to be released Sept. 2.

“I knew his case would be reviewed, but I didn’t think this quickly. But Thursday, I got a call from the Pardon Office in Washington, D.C., telling me President Obama had commuted his sentence,” Wilson’s attorney Brittany Byrd told the station. “It was the most incredible feeling. I was so overjoyed for him and the thought of him being reunited with his mom and children, after spending two decades in prison for a nonviolent drug offense.”

Maybe he was one of the drug dealers that Prince used when traveling around the country. If so would obama commute the sentence?

Only one of the 10 Commandments involves violence, do not need the other 9, I guess.

Your 13 year old daughter’s teacher has sex with your daughter. No crime because your daughter initiated the act, and no violence involved.

A drunk gets stopped for DUI. He was not involved in an accident, so not a violent act. He should not be charged unless he hurts someone?

Your identity is stolen, and your debit card account is drained, oh well, not a real crime.

Your car is stolen. No violence, just a property, so no crime was committed.

Your house is burgled repeatedly by junkies wanting cash to buy the newly legalized dope. Your house was empty, so nothing criminal really happened, right?

The employee that embezzled several million dollars from her employer over a several year period should just walk free as long as she did not hurt anyone?

Sorry, but if you want to live in a civilized society, part of the deal is you have to abide by the laws, ALL the laws, or pay the penalty that society has chosen. No picking and choosing what feels right to you on a given day.

Your option is to go live in a lawless country and enjoy your “freedom”.

You completely evaded the question.

And I am talking about this case, this story. Not all of your disconnected unrelated scenarios.
