If one of the largest pyramids on the planet can disappear under vegetation, it makes you wonder how many others are out there somewhere and waiting for discovery.

"If one of the largest pyramids on the planet can disappear under vegetation, it makes you wonder how many others are out there somewhere and waiting for discovery." In the mid 80's I visited the site called "El Mirador" in the northern Peten jungles of Guatemala. At that time, it was a two day hike or horseback ride to get there. Evidently, there are now roads. Walking through the jungle, you wouldn't know this massive pyramid is anywhere near until your right upon it, such is the density of the jungle. When I climbed to the top of the biggest structure, I could see more structures poking up above the jungle many miles away. You are absolutely correct that there are many many more out there that have been taken over by the jungle. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Mirador
