We all did. What did we know? Certainly not the dirt on the Bush family with the CIA and Central America etc. I knew none of it. We were all Bush fans back then. I believed in the Iraq war! All the info I could find led me to believe it. I was wrong and I regret my support and all the kids who died for NOTHING, defending towns that are now in ISIS hands...

You know, that particular item could REALLY be used by Trump.

Trump just has to point to some of Sanger’s writings to show what an incredible racist she was, show the association with that old scumbag, Prescott, and then say, “Oh, by the way, Prescott’s son and grandson refuse to endorse me...which I wear as a badge of honor.”

But you might also consider that we LOST one election with a Bush attached (1992), which gave us Clinton the Philanderer and Clinton the Witch. The other Bush was so reviled by the population that we got 2 terms of Obama as the pushback.
I’d also argue that the only reason that the 1980 and 1984 elections were won was because of one Ronald Wilson Reagan, not his duplicitous Vice Presidential candidate; further, Bush 41 won in 1988 largely on campaign promises that made him look like Reagan’s 3rd term (which largely turned out to be a bunch of lies).
So, while you did point out an amazing fact, it doesn’t stand alone - there’s more to the Bushes than 5 election wins.
With every year that passes, George W does and says more and more to show me that he was never the man I thought he was. Not even close.
This is such a petty, cowardly thing to do, and so beneath the former presidents.

I’d like to believe that Nixon would actually back Trump. In his own day, he was quite anti-establishment. Of course, once in control he enjoyed the power of being “The Man,” but he was (like Trump) not much liked for the things he said and did. I remember how the press absolutely had a meltdown with the Christmas 1972 B-52 bombings of Hanoi and Haiphong Harbor - that was him being Trump-like, telling the military to totally mess up the Vietnamese to force them to the bargaining table - no PC crap, just bomb them to the Stone Age. Ditto in ‘73 with his gigantic airlift of military equipment to Israel, and his worldwide alert to stop Brezhnev from sending 7 airborne divisions to Syria - the press and media did NOT like that one bit.
