(AP) The Rolling Stones have asked presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to stop playing their songs at his campaign events.
In a statement Wednesday, the rock band said they have not given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately.
A Trump campaign spokeswoman didnt immediately respond to a request for comment or say whether they had a license to play their songs.

Since he pays the licensing fee, they actually do not have a say.
Who cares
Hey I thought Keith Richards endorsed Trump? Prolly the stinkin’ loyyyyyyerssss involved.
I hope he says FU and keeps playing it.
@ssholes. Wish I was a good enoigh composer as a musician. I’d whip up some kick-@ss music for free.
Foolish move by Rolling Stones, particularly if this comes from Mick, who ought to know that millions of Trump supporters love the Stones!
I’m already a bit pizzed reading this.
Maybe Slayer is available.
Political campaigns dont need artists permission to play their songs at rallies as long as the political organization or the venue has gotten whats known as a blanket license from the performing rights organizations ASCAP and BMI for all the music in the licensing groups repertoire.
But artists do have some recourse. BMI, for example, has said it has a provision in its license agreement that allows BMI songwriters or publishers to object to the use of their songs and they have the ability to exclude those songs from the blanket license.
Public Performance License, end of story.
You can’t always get what you want but if you try sometimes you can get what you need (royalty checks).
There’s a million songs out there to choose from. This is just the Stones grabbing at publicity.
Hey, if someone HAS to bake a cake whether they like it nor not, I guess someone else will HAVE to allow their music to be played (for the standard fee).

Where did the article say they paid the licensing fee...
Talked-about a blanket licence agreement with a few artist based rights...
Trump should agree - it’s time for music from newer fresher faces
arent the Rolling Stones in their 70’s ?
Create some jobs in America by offering new artists a contest to write and perform
The Rolling Bones should be happy that anyonew still will play their music short of at a funeral for old folks.
PHOOEY to the Rolling Stones!!!!
PHOOEY to Springsteen, too!!!!
Sometimes, Trump rallies have included classical music. Let’s see more of it! That will fake out both the aging rockers and the politically-correct university crowd!!!!
