‘President Trump?’ Here’s How He Says It Would Look
New York Times ^ | May 4, 2016 | PATRICK HEALY

Donald J. Trump is now the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, but he is also keenly aware that many in his own party — and many Americans, frankly — are scared and anxious about the idea of him in the Oval Office. Even he is not sure how a deeply divided nation would adjust to the first 100 days of a Trump presidency.

What he does know, however, is what he wants to do in those early months. In a series of recent interviews, he sketched out plans that include showdowns with business leaders over jobs and key roles for military generals, executives and possibly even family members in advising him about running the country.

Shortly after the Nov. 8 election, President-elect Trump and his vice president — most likely a governor or member of Congress — would begin interviewing candidates for the open Supreme Court seat and quickly settle on a nominee in the mold of Justice Antonin Scalia.

...

On Inauguration Day, he would go to a “beautiful” gala ball or two, but focus mostly on rescinding Obama executive orders on immigration and calling up corporate executives to threaten punitive measures if they shift jobs out of the United States.

...

On his first day in office, he said, he would meet with Homeland Security officials, generals, and others — he did not mention diplomats — to take steps to seal the southern border and assign more security agents along it. He would also call the heads of companies like Pfizer, the Carrier Corporation, Ford and Nabisco and warn them that their products face 35 percent tariffs because they are moving jobs out of the country. Democrats and some Republicans have warned that financial markets would react poorly and that Mr. Trump’s protectionist stances might plunge the country into recession

I suspect we are going to get more of the clowns from Fauxrepublic.net....or whatever that site all of the Curz fanboys ran off to is called now that it’s just a dead shell of a failed campaign, trickling back over here now that they have zero to talk about with each other.

The only thing they will do is make snide remarks until they will have to get banned by the mods.

...reducing regulation and onerous bureaucratic "hoops" most American businesses tend to have to jump through.

That could happen pretty quickly. The new administration could announce a total review of ALL regulations on Constitutional and on economic grounds.
• The review would be undertaken by newly appointed boards within each agency.
• Promulgation of all new regulations would cease.
• The current regulation-writers would be tasked with new, unrelated but very menial responsibilities (realizing government unions would frown on mass firings)
• If new regulation-writers are needed, they would be hired from outside the government.
• A bill would be submitted rescinding the ability of extremist interest groups to bring lawsuits on behalf of plants, animals and other non-human parties.

Mint cookies, mint patties, my weakness too. My wife keeps the wraps on most these shenanigans. Once in a while I slip one in on the conveyor belt when she is not looking.....

“Democrats and some Republicans have warned that financial markets would react poorly and that Mr. Trump’s protectionist stances might plunge the country into recession”

That’s a good one. Politicians as stock analysts and economists are comparable to a bunch of chimps throwing darts at a dartboard.

The markets hate uncertainty about as much as they hate trade wars. I would expect that the stock of any company which depends on exporting or importing for part their business would take a big hit right off the bat. Certainly in the short run.

I thought he said his favorite SC jurist was Clarence Thomas.

Give companies two years. If they don’t change how they do business, the tariff is applied. That’s incentive.

Trump must “hit the ground running!” The first 100 days needs to be filled with action and momentum! He must show his leadership skills and deliever on SOME of his promises. He should have his cabinate leaders selected now—and a pool of VP names as well as judges. He needs to inspire the people with his own brand of “fireside Chats” -—get Americans hope for the future under a Trump president. First person he should meet with—Putin of Russia to plan to end ISIS once and for all. Next —England and France. He needs to get together a list of bills for Congress—things that are not just cosmetic but realistic—Health Care could be his first goal—Fix Obamacare—replace it with a workable Trumpcare.

How long have you been following politics? Because it sure seems you’re a rookie.

Roe v. Wade was not decided by a president signing a bill from Congress. It was the US Supreme Court that hatched that travesty.

Now given the fact above, what was your question?
