On May 3 Georgia Governor Nathan Deal (R) took the action Everytown for Gun Safety had urged by vetoing campus carry legislation that had been on his desk for over a month.
The legislation–HB 859–was passed by the Georgia House on February 22. On February 26, Deal took front and center in defending the bill, even suggesting that those who opposed it were using old arguments that had proven vacuous after other concealed carry expansions.

Anyone who lives in GA surprised by “I’m in the pocket of the Chamber of Commerce and Disney” Deal’s action? Anyone?

Quick question: WHERE in the 2nd Amendment does it say that you can "Keep and Bear Arms" except in certain areas designated by some RINO or lib?

I think the good folks of Georgia are getting screwed over by the Governor....he is actually a left wing ideologue in disguise.
Lots of people cheer the Heller decision, but they don't bring up that part of it.
Not surprised by Nathan Deal’s lurch to the left, since he was a longtime democrat Congressman until Speaker Newt coaxed him into coming over to our side of the aisle.

If the Republicans in the Georgia legislature wanted to override Deal’s veto, they could call a special session and do so without the contingent of black Democrats. The truth is that this legislation was primarily window dressing for the November election. Most Republicans fully expected, or at least strongly suspected, that Deal would veto the bill. Now, they can go back to their districts, tell the voters they “fought the good fight”, and blame the governor for the bill’s demise.
Activist, radical, racist and sexist professors should think about keeping the tempo down. Maybe just teach their subjects and drop the radical rants?
