Here's the intro on wiki on it. the exact origin as you'll see is up for debate. It's even suggested that it came from a Kentucky contractor on canals who preferred to hire people from Indiana. His name was Samual Hoosier and his crew came to be called Hoosiers. Just roll with it. We do. For more just type "Hoosier" into wiki.

Hoosier /ˈhuːʒər/ is the official demonym for a resident of the U.S. state of Indiana. The origin of the term remains a matter of debate within the state,[1] but "Hoosier" was in general use by the 1840s,[2] having been popularized by Richmond resident John Finley's 1833[2] poem "The Hoosier's Nest". Anyone born in Indiana or a resident at the time is considered to be a Hoosier.[3] Indiana adopted the nickname "The Hoosier State" more than 150 years ago.[1]

"Hoosier" is used in the names of numerous Indiana-based businesses and organizations. "Hoosiers" is also the name of the Indiana University athletic teams and seven active and one disbanded athletic conferences in the Indiana High School Athletic Association have the word "Hoosier" in their name.[citation needed] As there is no accepted embodiment of a Hoosier, the IU schools are represented through their letters and colors alone. Origin

In addition to "The Hoosier's Nest", the term also appeared in the Indianapolis Journal's "Carrier's Address" on January 1, 1833. There are many suggestions for the derivation of the word, but none is universally accepted

I think the media already has the exit polls and they are trying to push stories to alter the outcome.

I wonder how fast the networks will call the race for Trump. Most of the night will be fixed on the Hillary-Bernie race. Bernie is hanging in there hoping for a recommendation for indictment from the FBI.

Indiana polls close in about 10 minutes. My place of work is a polling place. It was busy all day. I was in and out offering food/snacks/drinks for our poll workers and hearing many asking for Republican ballot. Many polling places in my small North Central Indiana City have long lines. We started out this morning with reports of record voting. Many have early voted. I noticed there were many TRUMP signs at polling places did not see anything for Cruz or Kasich. GO TRUMP!!
