Cruz: Trump is an 'utterly amoral' bully, narcissist, pathological liar
The Hill ^ | May 03, 2016 | Ian Swanson and Jonathan Easley

Posted on 05/03/2016 9:51:50 AM PDT by 20yearsofinternet

Ted Cruz laid into Donald Trump with his most personal and toughest criticism since the GOP presidential campaign began, calling him a "pathological liar" on Tuesday who doesn't understand the difference between the truth and lies.

Cruz prefaced his comments by saying that for the first time, he wanted to say exactly what he thought of Trump after the front-runner suggested Cruz's father might have had something to do with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The Texas senator accused Trump of being both disingenuine and self-aggrandizing, saying Trump was a "narcissist" at a level "I don't think this country has ever seen." "Donald Trump is such a narcissist that Barack Obama looks at him and says, 'Dude, what's your problem?' " Cruz said.

“Whatever lie he’s telling, in that minute he believes it, Cruz added. "But the man is utterly amoral. Morality does not exist for him.”

“It’s why he went after Heidi directly, attacked her and smeared her," Cruz said. "Heidi isn’t pretty enough for him. ... Donald is a bully. ... Bullies don’t come from strength, they come from weakness. ... There’s a reason Donald builds giant buildings and puts his name on them everywhere he goes."

"Donald has a real problem with women," Cruz continued.

He then noted that Trump defended boxer Mike Tyson, who was convicted in Indiana on rape charges, and told Trump's supporters they should not believe their favored candidate.

"Donald is cynically exploiting that anger, and Donald is lying to his supporters," he said. He went on to insist Trump would betray his them by not doing what he promises, including his pledge to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Cruz's all-out assault suggested his campaign might be nearing its breaking point.

What else would you expect from a poser “cowboy” that wears $1000 ostrich cowboy boots. (According to radio talk show hosts Armstrong & Getty, that interviewed Cruz last Saturday in San Francisco).

“Trump did NOT connect Cruz’s father to the assassination...
He connected Cruz’s father to Lee Harvey Oswald and the Fair Play for Cuba organization, which is true...Even admitted to by Cruz’s father...”

Needs repeating.

I know...Whatever association his dad was with has no bearing on this election, but when some of these people try to say Trump is accusing the dad of being part of the assassination is ridiculous!!!!

I knew he was bad the moment I found out he voted FOR the Iran deal and/or Corker Bill. Then went out and said it was “bad”. Plausible deniability. Playing both sides of the street.

The Chicago thing - he joined the barking moonbats. Game over.

I had such hope last summer and even last winter than Cruz and Trump could combine forces and be a super ticket for conservatism. Looks like that’s never going to happen.

They’re at the point of saying things that will NEVER be forgiven and Trump is risking a Cruz walkout. We’ll see how far Trump can get without support from the elites *or* Cruz supporters.

But you got the Alex Jones listener vote. Good on you for that, Donald.

There is no one running for POTUS right now that I could vote for w/o having to go to confession afterwards.

Might as well line up that confession booth, since, by the looks of it, you're okay with Hitlery.

“I want to see the good people of Texas recall this asshole.”

I think there are too many carpetbaggers in Texas now. Pinging some friends on the scene for their thoughts.

I can't believe Ted hasn't caught on to Trump's strategy yet.

He has dispatched all opponents with the same simple strategy.

Tease them, needle them, laugh at them, but keep it light and fun. Keep at it until you eventually get their goat...and then, in their anger, they will reveal who they really are. They will expose the ugly sides of their personalities.

Trump know these politicians are putting on an act. He forces them to drop the act.

The only candidate who handled it good-naturedly was Rubio. In fact, for a short while, Rubio seemed like he was enjoying himself. But after Trump beat him in his home state of Florida, he was done.

Trump practiced this technique in NYC for years with folks like Rosie O'Donnell. He knows how people react...he knows how the media reacts.

He is a master of it. And it works like a charm.

Why broach the topic at all? Most people with a pulse understand the linkage.

How does this reflect on Trump’s much-heralded turn to being a Unifier and becoming Presidential?

The man has an instinct for the gutter even when he’s already won. Disturbing.

Absolutely not. He is, however, a delusional, slimy lawyer and politician.

Manafort’s hiring was supposed to herald a new era of professionalism and control.

"He wrote a book and in the book, he said terrible things about himself," Trump said of Carson. ... I don't want a person that's got pathological disease."

Trump first compared the two conditions on CNN and repeated them to a 1,500-person crowd at Iowa Central Community College: "I said that if you're a child molester, a sick puppy, a child molester, there's no cure for that - there's only one cure and we don't want to talk about that cure, that's the ultimate cure. No there's two, there's death and the other thing. But if you're a child molester, there's no cure, they can't stop you. Pathological, there's no cure."

It won't matter.

What Cruz is saying is that Trump, being a pathological liar and fooling the voters, is inauthentic.

But everyone knows Trump is anything but inauthentic.

Trump is no put on, no fancy talk, no airs...Trump is Trump.

That's why this attack by Cruz will hurt Cruz (or even Hillary if she tries it)...not Trump
