In a way, I’m still a Cruz fan. The idea of a smart, young constitutional conservative who fought the “Washington Cartel” by himself riding a wave of popular support to the White House is almost irresistible. I want to vote for that, damn it!

I have come to believe that Cruz was either playing that Tea Party role while double dealing from the outset, or was turned by something, be it ambition, greed, hubris or who knows what.

I wish it weren’t so. Trump is far from my ideal conservative candidate. The old Reagan charm goes down better with me than the brash showmanship of Trump. I’d like a guy who knew what the nuclear Triad was (although to be fair, does the CiC need to know that?) and he has said and done some things in the past that won’t help conservatives cozy up to him.

I do think he’s from outside the Green Zone we call the Beltway, and that in his heart he loves this country and what it enabled him to do, and that he wants the same for his grandchildren and sees it changing before they have that chance. I’m hoping that and his business smarts are enough.

So far on every policy paper he’s issued, I like what I read. I’m enough of a true believer to think that when an intelligent person turns his intellect to politics late in life, he’s going to be basically conservative, and that’s where I hope Trump is now.

I still think that my tagline is correct. With no Trump, the GOPe would have politely ignored Cruz as they crowned Jeb!

Jeff Sessions trusts him. That’s good enough for me.

...Cruz never knew when to dial it back. His volume has been at 11 for months and people are sick of it.

Excellent analysis. A man of reason turns into a foolish lying heckler. At least that message is consistent with the relentless negative advertising his Super Pacs are blasting 24/7.

“...all hands on deck”????

The GOP HAS HAD MOST HANDS below deck sabotaging the entire GOP ship for 2 years now.

Do you think they see the true enemy in Hilliary?

I do not see a united front...yet. I hope the GOP unites in order to eliminate Hilliary but thus far...

That was very well stated. Also a great example for all of us on how to put the snark back in the box and get ready for the next fight. We really do need every last Cruz supporter.

“Levin, Rush & Beck, in particular, will never again wield political influence. An era has passed.”

Yes. I think that is a good thing, on balance.

Colorado’s voterless “victory” was Lyin’ Ted’s final downfall as it completely exposed him as just another sleazy lawyer and Establishment politician.

Kind of already sung.
Many unbound delegates have been said to switch to Trump already.
I think he already might have his 1237 and the rest is just all gravy.

Lyin' Ted's "superior intellect" was exposed as a myth with the utter stupidity of his decision making and choosing sleazy Establishment and Kooks to partner with his campaign.

Even his skills as a master debater was a myth as Trump crushed him every debate and a "commoner" ate his lunch in Indy on Monday.

Lyin' Ted was and is just an Establishment fraud of limited intellect and hopefully Trump will NOT consider him for SCOTUS. Lyin' Ted would be an ally to the Traitor Pirate John Roberts who he supported & promoted for SCOTUS as well as Anti-American policies such as TPA that he co-authored & supported with Lyin' Ryan.

Donald Trump endorsements while in Indiania over the past few days: Bobby Knight- Indiana University basketball, Lou Holtz -Notre Dame football, Gene Keady -Purdue basketball, Fred Williamson, from Gary, IN, -NFL player/actor and Digger Phelps -Notre Dame basketball.

Talk about a knock-out punch. Wow!!!!

“Do you think they see the true enemy in Hilliary?”

No.

I expect Linda Grahamnesty and Mittens to closet campaign for Hillary.

That’s why the rest of us need to get on board.

Abandoned hope? It is mathematically impossible for Cruz to get to 1,237 thru the primaries. And he is so far behind in delegates won, he can't get within 400 delegates of Trump.

Which is why his strategy has been to stop Trump from getting 1237, get as many as possible of his supporters be delegates (though "officially" bound to Trump) and hope for a 2nd ballot win.

If Trump takes Indiana, then those plans are futile.

You are so right. Cruz and Beck are firmly in their Bunker, moving around mythical forces and delegates.

Get tag line, by the way!

Trump brought up illegal immigration. That was a bold topic and he wasn’t afraid of offending anyone. He was hot out of the gate with that. After the thought settled in people’s mind it was “heck why not give him a try.”

“Being a politician in a year where being a politician was poison.”

It’s my hope we’ll be able to say the exact same thing about Hillary soon!

Let’s keep this anti-politician sentiment rolling!
