The media and anti-Trump reporters, and politicians have tried, and almost succeeded in falsifying what Trump meant when he talked about immigration....illegal immigration...the Mexican Americans I know want our laws to be obeyed....La Raza etc. distort and vilify our border laws, even Obama told ICE to stand down....90% of Americans live by our laws...the rest are making money by not obeying those laws....La Raza included.

“...He lives in California LEGALLY....”

That last word says it all. And being a Californian myself and for all my life, I would put large money on the probability that there are MANY more LEGAL Mexicans here that feel the same way.

People from Mexico who are here legally consider themselves Americans first. It’s really that simple.

If he’s Mexican, should he be voting for anyone (legally)?

Uh, if the guy is Mexican he can’t vote in our general election, as he has self-identified as a Mexican, not an American.

My Hispanic in-laws want Trump.

They can’t stand the scum coming into the country, and they want something done about it.

I know a lot of people with Mexican, Hispanic (whatever term they choose to use) heritage that are voting for Trump. Many that are here legally or born here do not sympathize with illegals, they have nothing in common with them.

Many in New Mexico have Spanish family histories here that go back before we became part of the U.S. and do not agree with Conquista and all that. Liberals want to sort people into nice little piles but it does not work that way.

If you got in, got legal and were juuuust beginning to find your feet, do you think you’d want a trillion much more desperate people flooding in to compete with you in your still iffy job..?

No way in hell.

In fact, those people should be by a wide margen the very demographic MOST opposed to illegal immigration.

Just curious why a border wall wasn't built shortly after the Mexican War. That should have been the first priority. Look what happened in the years after, you had the Poncho Villa raids and the illegals that Eisenhower cracked down on. Even Reagan should have demanded a wall being built and citizenship clarified before agreeing to amnesty.

There's been a lot of missteps throughout history, and lives and money could have been saved as a result.

The left can only win arguments by constantly redefining and distorting terms; for instance, claiming that opponents of illegal aliens hate immigrants, when they are not the same thing.

The most adamantly anti-illegal alien person I ever met was a Hispanic woman born in Mexico. She and her husband had come to Texas, became US citizens, then opened a construction-related business here in DFW. She was very proudly American. She went on to me at length about how infuriated it made her that so many illegals applied to them for jobs and spoke to her as if they deserved all the same rights and privileges that she and her husband received after they followed all the rules, passed all the tests, and paid all the fees and taxes. I haven’t seen her in a couple of years, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she voted for Trump over Hillary.
