That doesn’t even come close to what I meant. Holtz hasn’t been at Notre Dame in 20 years!

Attended ND during the Ara Parseghian years. We sat the stands and chanted, "Ara stop the rain", in other words, Ara was the equivalent of God.
However, in those days, ND played played a relatively light schedule and the only hard team to beat was USC which was at the end of the season.
But when Holtz was in there, the competition was much tougher so you had to respect what he did.
Notre Shame is CATHOLIC????? What with Fr. Hesburgh, Fr. Malloy, Fr. Jenkins, the Land o’ Lakes Conference in the 1960s, honorary degrees to Obozo and Bohner and Biden, who would have suspected? I had thought ND stopped any pretense to Catholicism by sometime around the end of WW II.
