Cruz denies an Indiana loss would end campaign
The Hill ^ | May 1st, 2016 | By Jessie Hellmann

Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz said on Sunday he would continue his campaign if he lost the critical Indiana primary on Tuesday.

"If you don't win in Indiana under these circumstances, is this race over?" asked "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace.

"Of course not," Cruz said. "It's going to be a battle to see who can earn a majority of the delegates elected by the people at the convention. And the reason Donald is so frantic to say the race is over ... is because Donald knows he cannot earn a majority of the delegates that were elected by the people.

Cruz said on Jake Tapper’s, State the Union that Donald Trump is “pretending to be an outsider” and “trying to perpetrate the biggest fraud in the history of electoral politics.”

Is he crazy? On what basis does he say these things?

This man is so nasty, so sleazy, and such a blatant liar, I can’t bear to look at Ted Cruz anymore. Ugh!!

People have been much too quick to declare Ted Cruz to be some kind of nut or shill for somebody else.

I consider the insanity, such as it is, only temporary, and not any more of a limit on the future than Richard Nixon losing the California governorship in 1962.

True, it was said by Nixon, “Gentlemen, you won’t have Dick Nixon to kick around any more”, at what was believed to be Nixon’s last press conference, and that was thought to be the end of Nixon.

You have all had access to the history since then.

He reminds me of the Japanese who kept fighting for decades after the war.

Maybe it’s just me... but I believe that Cruz actually believes the crap spewing out of his mouth. I used to like Cruz in beginning. Now I see him for the opportunist joke that he is. When I really look at his record I have to wonder what the hell has he actually accomplished as a young senator? His experience as a US senator is very short. Sure I like his purported constitutional bent.

The way Ted has been talking in the last 24 hours, he may intend to stay hidden in Cleveland until 2020.

There’s something wrong in that family and that’s all I’m going to say. I don’t like smearing people without some concrete evidence. But I can have my opinion based on experience with screwed up families.

Total projection - that's what Cruz himself did to get elected to the Senate. Texas has certainly suffered fraud perpetrated by Cruz.

A nasty argument broke out between Carly Fiorina and Heidi Cruz, after Heidi Cruz confronted Fiorina about sleeping with her husband, GOP Presidential candidate Lyin’ Ted Cruz, in a Pizza restaurant’s restroom in Greenville, Indiana on Saturday afternoon.

I started out liking Cruz. As time has gone by, I’ve opened my eyes. I just watched this interview with Chuck Todd. I’m surprised someone hasn’t lunged for his throat. Honestly, what an obnoxious ass. He doesn’t win debates - people just get fed up trying to have a normal discussion with him.

Cruz may have started honest and is now just crazy, he may have sold out along the way or he may have been a stealth weasel from the get go. Doesn’t matter now.

He’s falling on his political sword, and it’s either a whackjob level of delusion or he knows the new sheriff isn’t taking the same payola that bought him.

Either way, he’s not only legally unqualified to be President, he isn’t suited to the task.

Okay, look folks, fair is fair.

Tead is right. An Indiana loss would not end his campaign.

It’s already over...

Will someone have the mercy to tell Tead?

“Baghdad Bob was much more likable than Cruz....more honest and trustworthy too.”

I think everyone felt a bit of sympathy for Baghdad Bob, doing his best to make a silk purse out of Saddam’s pig’s ear, with the possibility of being shot if he failed. All of us have had to carry out some odious task at the behest of a rotten boss at one time or another.

Oily Felito, on the other hand, is doing the job for himself. Well, and some pro bono representation for BLM on the side...

Cruz shut down FedGov. Right there, the man's got serious street cred. And he's brilliant and a fine legal scholar.

But as it turns out that's all he is. And I've come to see that that's the really the problem. He's a lawyer and not much else. He tends to see things in terms of the Code of Civil Procedure and counts technicalities as "wins."

But that's completely tone deaf. That's not what 2016 is about. We're not in a high-stakes litigation here. We're hard pressed conservatives who agree on nearly everything and we're trying to hash out who should be our next standard bearer.

In short, Ted needs to stop with the high-powered, stop-at-nothing trial lawyer tactics (and then publicly gloating about his legal maneuvering - really nauseating) and try to dig the fact that we conservatives are ladies and gentlemen and we're trying to reach consensus here in what's probably the most important election of a generation.

Going full bore with the legal "gotchas" like in CO and elsewhere, his latest smoke-filled room arrangement with Kasich, his delusional choice of Carly as his running mate when he's nowhere near securing enough support to be our guy - all of this is the exact opposite of what this 2016 primary should be about and it's really turning people off.

He needs to knock it off. It's time for the party to rally behind Trump.
