Heidi Cruz: ‘Ted Is An Immigrant!’
Daily Caller ^ | 04/30/2016 | Chuck Ross

Posted on 05/01/2016 4:54:29 AM PDT by Pfesser

(Daily Caller) Heidi Cruz opened up a potential line of attack for Donald Trump on Saturday when she told a campaign crowd in Indiana that her husband can unify the Republican party because he is an immigrant.

“Ted is an immigrant. He is Hispanic. He can unify this party,” Cruz told an audience in Greenfield, according to the Washington Examiner’s Byron York.

The Texas senator was born to a Cuban father and American mother in Canada in 1970 but moved to Texas several years later. And though Cruz is an American citizen because his mother’s nationality, Trump has used his opponent’s birthplace to suggest that he is not eligible for president.

He is a natural born Canadian citizen and a naturalized American citizen at birth.

Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen because he was born abroad in Canada with Canadian citizenship and an alien Cuban and/or Canadian father. At most Ted Cruz may or may not be a legitimate naturalized U.S. citizen, but naturalized U.S. citizens are not eligible to serve as a lawful president of the United States of America.

“He is a natural born Canadian citizen and a naturalized American citizen at birth.”

Ted Cruz is also not a natural born Canadian citizen, unless his Cuban born father and his U.S. born mother became Canadian citizens before the birth of Ted Cruz on 22 December 1970.

Hamzah bin Hussein was Crown Prince of Jordan, and a direct descendant of Mohammad. He was born in a foreign country (Jordan, not Canada), his father was not a US citizen (He was King, not Cuban) but his mother was a US citizen.

As a full Natural Born Citizen, of course Crown Prince Hamzah bin Hussein could run for president — don’t you think??

My opinion: Neither the Crown Prince of Jordan nor Ted Cruz are eligible.

Really an ignorant article.

I listen to all of Trump’s rallies.

He NEVER calls Ted Rafael. That is a flat out lie.

He calls Cruz LYIN’ TED and we all know it.

Also, there is no law that states the wife of a President has to be a natural born citizen.

Whoever wrote this hogwash is a lying sack of crap.

Also: Winston Churchill was every bit as much a Natural Born Citizen as Ted Cruz. Churchill’s mother was also a US citizen.

It’s not enough.

Rafael Edward Cruz, born in Calgary Alberta Canada, in 1970.

Father: Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, did not become a naturalized U.S. citizen himself until 2005.

Mother: Eleanor Elizabeth Darragh Wilson Cruz, became a naturalized Canadian citizen prior to the birth of her son Ted.

Which creates a definite problem for Senator Cruz:

The U.S. State Department explains in Section 349 of the INA (8 U.S.C. 1481), as amended) that U.S. nationals are subject to loss of nationality if they perform certain specified acts voluntarily and with the intention to relinquish U.S. nationality. Briefly stated, these acts include:

* obtaining naturalization in a foreign state upon one’s own application after the age of 18 (Sec. 349 (a) (1) INA)

OR

* taking an oath, affirmation or other formal declaration of allegiance to a foreign state or its political subdivisions after the age of 18 (Sec. 349 (a) (2) INA).

According to Ted Cruz’s father, he and his wife applied for and received Canadian citizenship before his birth in Alberta. Thus his mother committed the act of obtaining naturalization of a foreign state, which meets the definition of a an "expatriating act."

AND (this is important), until 1977, Canada required those seeking Canadian citizenship to swear an oath renouncing their allegiance to their previous country. If Ted Cruz’s mother obtained Canadian citizenship before 1977, then she swore this oath before a Canadian government official.

Based on these facts alone, Ted Cruz is not eligible to seek election to either the offices of President or Vice President. He must either withdraw from the current primary race, or the GOP must disavow his candidacy and expel him from the remaining primary contests upon this basis.

So who will be the ultimate “decision maker” to determine if he IS/IS NOT eligible? Should trump get more than 1237 delegates, who will actually care beyond that?

Also: Winston Churchill was every bit as much a Natural Born Citizen as Ted Cruz. Churchill’s mother was also a US citizen.

In Churchill's case, he wasn't even a US citizen ( let alone natural born ). Prior to 1934, U.S. citizen mothers were not permitted to transmit U.S. citizenship to their children born abroad.

Go Trump!

Ted Cruz, go back to the Senate and finish the job you were elected to do by the people of Texas.

He KNOWS that he’s not eligible.

SO—WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON HERE?

Ted Cruz is also not a natural born Canadian citizen, unless his Cuban born father and his
U.S. born mother became Canadian citizens before the birth of Ted Cruz on 22 December 1970.

**********

I don't know all the applicable laws involved but neither his mom or pop became Canadian citizens
before his birth. You have to have been a resident for at least five years so neither met that criteria
by Dec. 1970. Papa Cruz did become a Canadian citizen in 1973 based upon articles in the press.
We do know that Edward does possess a Canadian birth certificate which has been shown.

He was also a Cuban at birth if Rafael had not become Canadian.

We think he had already pledged Canadian in 1968-69.
