Ted Cruz Makes His Last Stand in Indiana

Republican presidential candidate seeks help from governors and former rivals to stop Donald Trump in Indiana’s primary.

Sen. Ted Cruz, in a last-ditch effort to derail Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, is trying to marshal support from governors, former rivals and other anti-Trump Republicans in advance of the make-or-break primary in Indiana Tuesday.

With polls showing him lagging behind the New York businessman in the Hoosier state, the Texas senator talked up the somewhat equivocal support he received from Indiana Gov. Mike Pence on Friday.

Mr. Pence said on an Indianapolis talk-radio show that he would vote for Mr. Cruz because he is “a principled conservative who has dedicated his career to advocating the Reagan agenda.” But then, Mr. Pence added, “I particularly want to commend Donald Trump, who I think has given voice to the frustration of millions of working Americans.”

I hope he loses it. He has been worthless. Texas deserves better than a Canadian imposter.

I am so happy that Cruz has shown his true colors. I totally misread him. I have been a Trump supporter for a long while but had thought perhaps Cruz would be a possibility for SCOTUS or something. Now, I would shudder at the idea. And, he has made it so it is not likely to ever be considered.

I’m in Muncie, couldn’t find any music on my headphones and wound on some talk radio show with Snarly as the guest.
At first I thought it was some state rep or school board president Cruz infatuate.
But the host said who she was and it was hard to believe.
Anyway all Fiorina had were tired rah rah! statements, political platitudes about her new love, but to the lady host’s credit, she started talking about Carrier moving to Mexico and jobs.
Miss H-1B/HP didn’t like where it was going, I didn’t think, and I was tired of listening to her voice so finally found some music and finished mowing the yard. Can’t wait for Tuesday......

How does someone make their last stand AFTER they have lost?

I have this sick feeling Trump will win the R nomination in the first round, Hillary will take Kasich for a unity ticket, and Cruz will be arrogant enough to run third party and be the Perot of 2016 and hand the White House to another Clinton with 40 percent of the vote. All the talk has been will Trump run third party? I think it’ll be Cruz that does it.

Last stand? Really? Like Kasich I expect Cruz to filibuster right through the convention.

There will be other times and opportunities for Cruz later on.

It’s unfortunate that we have to wait so long. This man needs to be out of politics, but it’s mostly up to Texas.

The ‘Indiana Voter Project’. Know who they are? Wife and I both had e-mails asking if we would answer “just a few questions.”
But we missed the 8pm ‘deadline.’
For some reason I’m wary, Are they with McIntosh’s Club For Growth.
There’s an Orwellian name if I ever heard one, with “conservative” always preceding it. I want to be ready if they write again or call.

This is the GOPe/Rino’s last stand, expect very slow voting returns, and multiple instances of ‘irregularities’.

To what end is Cruz making his last stand? He is already mathematically
eliminated. He lost the south. He lost the north. He won a few rigged
western outcomes.

Why is he continuing?

Cruz is drunk on his only fantasy.

With some lawyers, there is always another argument, another lie, another stall of the inevitable. I also think he’s a loon.

I don’t think he will quit after Indiana.

I don’t think Cruz will even serve out his term.
He will return to the senate more hated and despised than ever before.
What does he have to look forward to back in the senate?

Shutting down the govt every 6 months or so?

That’s Lyin’ Ted’s future.

Cruz is delusional — the GOPe is encouraging and probably funding him, in an effort to stop Trump. Cruz doesn’t realize that the GOPe is not about to hand him the nomination either at the convention.

I'd believe that. Cruz, his father, their church, Glenn Beck, and others believe Cruz is the anointed king. I think that's why he's will to lie, cheat, whatever it takes to fulfill his destiny. Not sure many realize how dangerous this man is.

I voted for him in 2012. Can’t see that happening in 2018.

Nope. Rafael won't even retain his Senate seat after 2018. Texans will remember their sitting Senator didn't bother to mention in 2012, that he was Canadian.

A lie of omission is just a lie.

He may be able to start a private practice law firm back home in Calgary.

Will Heidi LET him give up?
She’s the bigshot CFR, North American Union, no borders planner, with the cushy position at Goldman Sachs. She wants to be the FIRST First Lady of that big NAU lash-up.
