If Ted was a lawyer on the case, then Boehner told the truth.
Ted denied he was ever a lawyer for Boehner, a lie.
Ted denied knowing or talking to Boehner, perhaps true but it doesn’t matter.
One lie and a truth make one a liar.
Why would you take Boehner’s word over Cruz’s? Boehner is one of the sleaziest congress critters ever, and Cruz’s example in the Senate helped end Boehner’s putrid career. Boehner is a spiteful, hate-filled puss-pocket.
I admit I haven't been following this closely, but Boehner didn't need to have much contact with Cruz to not like the guy. Millions of people who've never met Ted Cruz feel the same way. And Ted could have been a minor lawyer in the case who filed paper work and spoke to the press but didn't have contact with Boehner.
It looks like papers at the time jumped to a conclusion by calling Ted "Boehner's lawyer" rather than "a lawyer working for Boehner" or "a lawyer on Boehner's team," and snarky media jumped at this without really considering what it might actually mean as a way of discrediting Cruz.
So this may be a case where neither politician is actually lying.
You mean like Trump stating he never hired illegals, or ay of a hundred lies he told?
Ted was a junior partner in a firm of thousands of lawyers and he worked on a case he was told top. Not the same.
You would know the difference if you were not to clouded by the lies Trump tells.
