The Case Against Women in Combat [Isaiah 3]
Weird Republic ^ | 3/15/2011 | Thomas Clough

Imagine your seventeen-year-old daughter fighting for her life in hand-to-hand combat with battle-hardened enemy soldiers. How long would she survive? Two minutes? One minute? There is a resurgent movement to push female military personnel into ever more intimate contact with hostile forces. The few arguments mustered in support of doing this focus narrowly on manpower issues or misplaced feminist vanity. In all the literature on this subject that I have collected over several years, not once have I found a proponent of women in combat who would speak honestly about the consequences of thrusting our daughters into man-against-woman festivals of death.

The vapid bravado of chair-bound bean-counting feminists was captured by Anne Applebaum in her Washington Post op-ed where she declared that "the argument about women in combat is over," because two female sailors were killed in the bombing of the USS Cole and women are deployed in Iraq. Ms. Applebaum is content that "American civilization has not collapsed as a result." In an editorial titled "The Pinking of the Armed Forces," the New York Times lamented that the United States "is simply a laggard on the topic of women in combat."

Right away we have a false argument: that because some women were the passive victims of enemy ordinance, therefore women are "in combat." A mortar shell landing on a mess hall is not what any normal person means by combat...

You don’t have any daughters do you ?

Would you want them raped by their superiors ?
In draft time they take men you would NOT want near your daughter and they will out rank them . Let me clue you in on something right now even all volunteer there are plenty of men in there you would not want your daughter to serve under .

You want to know what children raised by PSTD mom’s that don’t come out of it looks like ? Take a good look at any getto

I’m saying this as someone who comes from a military family and someone who has done plenty of volunteer work with PSTD vets.

Your arguments are completely unconvincing.

[[Your arguments are completely unconvincing.]]

So since you didn’t answer the question about having a daughter I’ll take it as a no.

Got a son ? Hope he is ready to raise your grandchildren all by himself if their mother is forced into that type of situation.

I took it as a rhetorical question...of course I wouldn’t want my daughter raped by her superiors.

Sure. Personally, I think God’s opinion counts. That is why I put the reference.

[[I took it as a rhetorical question...of course I wouldn’t want my daughter raped by her superiors.]]

Then why would you want to force her into that situation ?

Why would you want to force her into a situation where she would have someone like Obama as her commander in chief ?

Just because some women are feminist is no reason to punish those who are not .

Draft isn’t any good anyway , not even for males .
Most men forced into service do not have what it takes to be able to shoot someone (take a look at battle records from WWII and they prove my point )

The whole argument for including women in the draft comes from a very leftist agenda . They want it because what they want is to turn the military into a national police force .
Conservatives should not be siding with them on this .

Again I am not against women serving in the military when it is their choice . None of them belong in combat units though .

I learned a lot about life when I was in the Navy. And I saw a lot of things most humans never, ever get to see.

It is the military’s job to win!
You don’t take your star NBA player out and replace him with a WNBA player. She may be good, but your team is going to lose.

I have had a front row seat to several of the firsts when it came to integrating women into the Air Force. Every time it was a disaster that was painted over so many times that it appeared shiny on the outside. Two mistakes women made in pilot training nearly cost me my life.

Each time the standards had to be lowered and lowered some more so that the women could make it through and the program be deemed a success. I was supportive the first time around when they said nothing will change. That was a big lie. Fool me once.

On a good note, they make excellent intel officers.
